Frequently asked questions
Sample questions and answers for this mockup
Where can I find a recommendation in my language?
In the recommendations library, use the filter “Language of publication”. Each text shows one download per official language; a dashed, struck-through code means that language has not been published yet.
Why is a recommendation not available in my language?
Recommendations are drafted in one language and translated afterwards by the commissions. Some texts are only published in one or two languages. Texts can also differ slightly between languages, so always name the version you cite.
How do I cite a BIAP recommendation?
Give the number, the title and the language version, for example: BIAP Recommendation 06/11, “Hearing aids for children in the first year”, English version. Each recommendation page has a citation you can copy.
How are recommendations written?
Delegates, associate members and international experts draft them together in specialised technical commissions. Read how a recommendation is made.
Where can I find an older or withdrawn text?
Texts that have been replaced or withdrawn are kept in the archive. They are no longer in force; the library always holds the current version.
How can my society or I become a member of BIAP?
BIAP’s members are delegates of national or regional audiophonology committees and societies, international professional associations, and associate members. Contact the national secretariat for your country, or write to us with the form above.
I am a member. How do I log in?
Use Member login at the top of every page. If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it from the login page.
Who do I contact in my country?
BIAP has national secretariats for Austria, Germany and Switzerland, Belgium, Brazil, France, Italy, Lebanon, Romania and Spain. For any other country, contact the Secretary-General. See National secretariats.
